In preparation for and throughout the three days of Street Delivery. Gen, using their favorite communication platforms, we asked Generation Z how they experience Bucharest and how they want it to be developed in the next term of public administration. 2028 thus becomes the tangible target for a city that represents them, that responds to their needs, with which they identify and in whose development they can get involved with the courage, joy and openness characteristic of their age. What we have gathered, as a collection of thoughts, questions, ofs, proposals, is presented below in the form of a 10-point manifesto – a charter of commitment, proof of our confidence in honest and responsible collaboration with the Bucharest City Hall, with the aim of a soon healthy, beautiful, sustainable, inclusive Bucharest.
- Public transport and responsible mobility. Bucharest 2028 must be a city that is easy to get around on foot, by bike and by public transport.
- Accessible and comfortable housing. Bucharest 2028 needs quality housing, where the communal space and the space between blocks of flats are as important in terms of facilities and maintenance as the space in the apartments themselves.
- The street as public space. Bucharest 2028 must have a network of pedestrian streets regulated and supervised by the authorities, which do not become parking lots, garages, boutiques or tourist ghettos.
- Green space and the right to shade. 3 – 30 – 300. Bucharest 2028 must enjoy its rivers and lakes, have well-connected, continuous and extensive green-blue corridors serving the entire city.
- Inclusive city. The city for children, women, youngsters, pensioners, adults with cars. City for everyone. Bucharest 2028 must be an open, friendly and hospitable city.
- The health of the city and its inhabitants. Bucharest 2028 must be a city where you can breathe, where the right to fresh air, shade and peace is guaranteed.
- Rehabilitation, consolidation, restoration of the built environment and infrastructure. Bucharest 2028 must be a city whose infrastructure you can trust.
- Citizens participation to the city’s development. Bucharest 2028 must be the city of its inhabitants.
- Image of the city. Bucharest 2028 must be a city that represents us.
- Education, culture, civism. Public space infrastructure. Bucharest 2028 must teach us how to live well together.
